Snapcase v Boy Sets Fire

Taster before the new Snapcase record, 'Designs for Automation' comes out in January 2000 .

One new track and a Police cover are what we have on offer from Snapcase. Both are short but definitely not sweet. Picking up nicely where 'Progression...' left off, Snapcase have lost none of there brutality or anger, even the Police cover has an aggressive edge that would make you think it were there own, and there are some real nice layered guitars on the very last verse. Machine Head recently covered a Police tune also. There's however ain't so good.

Boy Sets Fire also have two offerings, but I'm not sure what to make of them. The first song was just too punk for me, the guitars, the whinny vocals, it just annoyed me and I almost didn't make it to the second track, but I did and it shocked me how different it was. Very heavy, fast, and aggressive. I liked it. But which was the real Boy Sets Fire? I hope it was the later.
